The elements involved in the improvisation were Chuktah and Bryan Fulton
manipulating live and prerecorded sound through MAX, Kreed Du Chat using a turntable,
mixer and the MC-303, and Kyron playing several synthesizers through a standard keyboard
controller. There were no preconceptions or determinations established on the nature of
the music to be played before the session began. Each element was free to create and
augment the general stew as they saw fit.
Kyron later took the raw recordings and manipulated them further,
adding samples, creating loops, stretching and bending spaces of sound
finding the
form that was already there and pushing it forward.
The result is a dense mix that sometimes alludes at the chaos of
early electronica and then pulls back to reveal straightforward beats and lush harmonies
hiding underneath. The music flows uninterrupted through darkness to light and then back
into darkness, unstoppable and relentless. The disparate elements are fused into such a
solid unity, that their origin is impossible to determine. Once discrete bursts of sound,
melody and rhythm have now been transformed into a deep bubbling cauldron of pure
creation: "De Pelos"
