Zelda and Roland find themselves once again in their eternal struggle, the soft chaotic infinity that is her and the localized precise point that is him. From one moment to the next it appears that one of them will be triumphant, will forever silence the incomprehensible voice of the other. But then the tables are turned and the struggle begins once again.

This piece is a collaboration between  Menlo McFarlane, well known artist, dancer and performer and myself (JC Mendizabal). Menlo asked for music that he could use during the Movements workshops that he teaches. He asked for "music of corridors, music that flows into a chamber, stays for a moment, then steps back and keeps on travelling".   I recorded Menlo's voice and used it as a foundation from which to begin the process of creation. This CD is the result.

"Zelda and Roland" is one long,flowing stream of music and sound (over 50 minutes) that was created to be the background for esoteric or spiritual work. It will transport you away from the daily routines of the human world and place you in a realm of voices and sounds that are lighter than air, endless drones punctuated by alien gamelans and whispered dreams,  suggestions and glimpses of other places, places behind the veil.
