Iris is devoted to improvisation in its purest form: no preplanning, no thought. We strive to be present in the moment of creation and coalesce into a shape that none of us could have predicted beforehand. Our goal is to trancend the mind and enter the realm of invocation.
In this CD, we have attempted to sculpt, reimagine and recreate the experience of certain invocational spaces while adding techno influenced beats and sounds. Our influences here range from Sun Ra and Mahavishnu to the Orb, Bill Laswell and Aphex Twin.
